My first working paper on SSRN

Today marks an important milestone: I’ve just published my first working paper on SSRN.

This paper introduces the Ragsdale Framework for Autonomous Organizations (RFAO) — a model I’ve been developing for years to chart the path toward AI-driven, self-managing enterprises. The framework lays out how organizations can progress through maturity stages of alignment, acceleration, and ultimately autonomization.

This is only the beginning. The RFAO provides the foundation, and in the coming months I’ll be publishing a series of additional working papers that expand on the models that support it — including decision flow, work control, maturity models, AI governance, and digital body theory. Together, these contributions form a cohesive body of work aimed at giving leaders the structure to make sense of the transition we are all living through: the shift from mechanical organizations to truly autonomous ones.

I’ve chosen to release this work independently. While Kaamfu Inc., where I serve as CEO, applies elements of the framework in practice, the RFAO itself is a public contribution to organizational theory and AI science. It is my hope that researchers, practitioners, and innovators will engage with it, challenge it, and refine it.

This is the start of a larger conversation that will continue across my personal blog here, RagsdaleFramework.org, and Kaamfu.ai.

Every organization is in the race to autonomy

Autonomization is not a distant future. The race is on, and the organizations preparing today will be the ones that win tomorrow.
